Ruby is a remarkably durable and resilient gemstone, ranking 9 on the Mohs hardness scale (second only to diamond). While the natural ruby itself can withstand daily wear with ease, the intricate pave setting and high-polished sterling silver framework require thoughtful care to preserve their brilliance:

• The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Always apply your perfumes, hairsprays, cosmetics, and body lotions before putting on your necklace. Everyday grooming chemicals can build up behind the central ruby and micro-pave accents, dulling their sparkle and accelerating the natural tarnishing of the silver.

• Always remove your necklace before swimming in chlorinated pools, relaxing in hot tubs, or handling household cleaning solutions to protect the bright silver finish.

• Remove the necklace before intense physical workouts, sports, or sleeping to avoid pulling on the fine chain links or snagging the delicate fan setting.
