Care & Wear Info

Peridot is an ancient gemstone with a hardness ranking of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. While it is durable enough for regular wear, it is sensitive to intense heat, sudden temperature shifts, and acids. To protect its brilliant green glow and the polished sterling silver finish, follow these care guidelines:

• The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Always apply your perfumes, body lotions, tanners, and hairsprays before putting on your bracelet. The chemical ingredients in grooming products can leave a dull film over the peridot facets and accelerate silver tarnishing.

• Always remove your bracelet before swimming in chlorinated pools, soaking in hot tubs, or doing heavy household cleaning.

• Take the bracelet off before working out, engaging in sports, or going to bed to prevent putting undue tension on the links or catching the prongs on fabrics.

• Avoid automated cleaning: Never place this bracelet inside an automated ultrasonic cleaner or steam machine. Peridot can crack under thermal shock or intense high-frequency vibrations. Avoid commercial liquid silver dips as well, as they can damage the stones.

• To clean safely: Simply wipe down the bracelet after wear with a clean, dry, ultra-soft microfiber cloth. For a deeper clean, wash gently using room-temperature water mixed with a drop of mild, neutral dish soap.
