Aquamarine is a member of the beryl gemstone family, carrying a commendable hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale. While it is highly resilient and suited for everyday wear, its pale, icy clarity can easily be masked by standard surface oils and dust. Following these care guidelines will ensure its crisp ocean-blue brilliance never fades:

• The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Always apply your perfumes, hairsprays, cosmetics, and body lotions before putting on your necklace. The chemicals and oils found in daily grooming products can coat the faceted back of the aquamarine, clouding its interaction with light and accelerating natural silver tarnish.

• Always remove your necklace before swimming in chlorinated pools, relaxing in hot tubs, or handling harsh household cleaning products to safeguard both the gemstone and the bright silver polish.

• Remove the necklace before intense physical workouts, sports, or sleeping to avoid accidental snags on the fine petals or pulling on the chain links.

• Avoid exposing this piece to automated ultrasonic cleaner tanks or commercial liquid jewelry chemical dips.

• To clean safely, soak the pendant briefly in room-temperature water mixed with a drop of mild dish soap.
