Natural cultured pearls are delicate, organic gems that are highly susceptible to damage from chemicals and friction. To protect its brilliant, rainbow-like nacre over time:

• Remember the essential pearl rule: they should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off at night.

• Always apply all perfumes, hairsprays, cosmetics, and body lotions before putting on your necklace, as the acids can erode the pearl's luster.

• Never wear your pearl pendant while showering, swimming, bathing, or sleeping.

• Avoid using harsh household cleaning products, ultrasonic jewelry machines, or chemical polishing dips.

• After each wear, gently wipe the pearl down with a soft, damp microfiber jewelry cloth to remove trace skin oils, then dry completely with a clean cloth before putting it away.

• Store the necklace completely flat in its own soft fabric pouch, away from harder metal jewelry or loose chains that could scratch the soft surface of the pearl.
